2nd - 4th June 2008
Harrogate International Centre
HARROGATE - UK
Abstracts are invited for possible inclusion in the programme as
either oral or poster presentations. Abstracts of studies which
have been published in a peer reviewed journal will not be
considered. The accepted abstracts, both oral and poster
presentations, will be published as a supplement of the journal
Archives of Diseases in Childhood (Fetal and Neonatal edition).
Please note if your abstract cannot be accepted for an oral
presentation, it will automatically be considered for a poster.
Authors
MUST
indicate which of the four Societies (BAPM, BMFMS, NNS, NNA)
they would like to review their abstract. This should be the
Society of which they are a member or which most closely relates
to their subject matter. Please note that membership of one of
the participating societies is
not
necessary for abstract submission.
Authors should indicate a classification type for their
abstract. The classifications are scientific, clinical trial,
cohort, secondary analysis, case report, audit, evidence based
practice or other.
Authors should also indicate their category of interest:
Nursing, Neonatal, Fetal Medicine, Maternal Medicine, Labour and
Delivery and Pregnancy Outcome. Abstracts should contain new
clinical, epidemiological or scientific data. This will usually
incorporate data from clinical trials or scientific experiments.
The results of audit and case presentations will be considered
only if they provide interesting new data.
Abstracts for presentation in the Nursing sessions should be
within one or more of the following areas: clinical research,
educational issues and evidence based practice. It is essential
that the content is relevant to neonatal nursing and of interest
to both relatively inexperienced nurses and advanced
practitioners.
PRIZES
There will be a Young Investigator Award from the Neonatal
Society and a Draeger Scholarship Award from the Neonatal Nurses
Association. In addition, prizes will be awarded to medical
trainees, nurses or non-clinical staff for the best oral and
best poster presentations in the various free sessions on the
two conference days.
